Songkhla, one of Thailand's important ports and coastal provinces, is located
950 kilometers from Bangkok.

Hat Yai, a district of Songkhla, is perhaps better known than the provincial
capital itself. Songkhla has fine beaches, enchanting waterfalls, and a
tranquil lake - a manifestation of its abundant natural resources.
While Songkhla is noted for its fishery industry, Hat Yai, the major district
of the province, serves as a transportation and communications hub of the South,
with this bustling town linking with various destinations in the neighboring
provinces and in Malaysia.
Located close to Songkhla town, the beach is famous for it's fine white sand,
lined with shady pine trees. Major attraction in the beach is the Golden Mermaid
statue, which has been the symbol of Songkhla. One can lie down in the calm
environment of the beach and enjoy the charming scenery. |
