Prachin Buri used to be a very prosperous town with beautiful waterfalls and
canals which are very popular among nature adventurers.
In general, Prachin Buri has plain areas and highlands. There are hills and
mountains in the north adjacent to Dong Phaya Yen Mountain ranges. In the south
and east, there are plains and forests. Low-lying plains suitable for
agriculture are in the west of the province.
The northwestern corner of Prachin Buri Province is part of Khao Yai National
Park (see Nakorn Ratchasima), while Thap Lan National Park is about 30 km north
of Kabinburi. The area really is untouched, with virtually no facilities at all.
You can get camping permits from rangers at the park office in Thap Lan
village, Na Di district. They can also organize trips around the park, but you
have to arrange your own transport to the entrance. |
